Integrations & APIs
Connect TalkLayr to the rest of your business.
Your phone system should not be an island. TalkLayr is designed so calling, contacts and call activity can connect cleanly with the wider systems your team relies on.
Your phone system should not be an island
Useful telephony information should be able to take part in the wider workflow.
Customer information rarely lives in one place.
Your CRM may hold the customer record. Your team may use shared contact data. Other systems may manage service, sales or follow-up activity.
TalkLayr is being designed so useful telephony information can participate in those wider workflows without forcing everything into the phone system itself.
The aim is simple: reduce duplicated information, avoid unnecessary manual steps and make it easier for your communications platform to work alongside the rest of the business.
Controlled APIs
Open where it helps. Controlled where it matters.
TalkLayr is designed around controlled interfaces rather than direct access to the underlying telephony platform.
That gives integrations a cleaner boundary to work with while allowing TalkLayr to protect tenant data, permissions and the operation of the phone system itself.
As API capabilities are made available, they can provide approved access to relevant business information and actions without exposing the internals of Asterisk or the wider runtime platform.
Call History
Make call activity useful beyond the call list.
Call History provides the natural connection point between telephone activity and the wider business.
Where supported, integrations can use relevant call information such as who called, who was called, when the call happened and how it ended.
That can provide useful context for other systems without turning Call History into a separate CRM or reporting platform.
Recording-related information remains subject to the permissions and recording configuration that apply to the call.
Phone Books
One contact source, used in more places.
TalkLayr Phone Books are intended to provide a consistent directory source across the platform.
The same contact information can support TalkLayr interfaces, compatible desk phones, TalkLayr Connect and, where appropriate, external integrations.
That helps avoid maintaining separate copies of the same business contacts simply because different devices or systems need to use them.
CRM and business systems
Bring the call and the customer context closer together.
A useful integration should remove work rather than create more of it.
Depending on the connected system and the integration available, TalkLayr can be used to support workflows such as locating a customer record when a call arrives, connecting call activity with an existing business record or helping a team follow up after a conversation.
We do not assume that every business works the same way. The important part is having clean, controlled integration points that can support the workflow that actually matters.
AI and workflows
Conversations can become part of a wider process.
Where AI capabilities and suitable integrations are enabled, information gathered during a conversation can be used as part of a configured business workflow.
That could mean capturing structured information, passing approved details to another system or triggering an agreed follow-up action.
AI does not receive unrestricted access to customer systems simply because an integration exists. Access and actions should remain deliberate and controlled.
Authentication and permissions
Integration should not mean bypassing control.
Connections to other systems should respect the same boundaries that matter elsewhere in TalkLayr.
That includes tenant separation, appropriate authentication, user permissions and controlled access to sensitive information.
Where recordings or other restricted information are involved, the permissions applying to that information still matter.
Import and export
Sometimes the simple option is the right one.
Not every connection needs to be a live integration.
Import and export can provide a straightforward way to move information between systems where automation would add unnecessary complexity.
Where those facilities are available, we want them to remain predictable and easy to understand.
Where availableTalkLayr
Designed to evolve cleanly
Build connections without tying them to PBX internals.
TalkLayr separates the business-facing platform from the underlying telephony runtime.
That matters for integration too.
External systems should work with stable, controlled interfaces rather than depending on low-level Asterisk configuration or implementation details that may change as the platform develops.
It is a deliberately simpler approach: expose what another system genuinely needs, and keep the telephony machinery behind the boundary.
